Licensing

When a church or school wants to use radios, they fall under the same umbrella as a business. They are a commercial entity when it comes to the rules they have to follow when using radios. That said, when obtaining an FCC license, the organization must apply for frequencies. Each license that we arrange, comes with 5 local (simplex) channels for the campus. More can be added, but everything comes with a cost.

The basic process is that you work with Fourten Engineering (that’s us) to get the application filled out and we help you submit that paperwork to the FCC coordinator, which is actually not the FCC, but rather a private company who does FCC licensing. The FCC doesn’t work directly with businesses any more, they use coordinators to do the legwork for the government. The coordinator will research what is available in your area and submits requests frequencies from the FCC according to what’s available.

If you’re apply to add a repeater at your campus, licensing can take a bit longer and will have more cost.

Don't worry.  We'll figure out how much everythig costs way before you're on the hook to pay for anything.
